Our Mission
Since May 2000, when it was founded by Rafik Hubert Sabbagh (General and Artistic Director), the Festival Quartiers Danses (formerly known as Transatlantique Montréal from 2000 to 2008) has presented 19 contemporary dance events including 592 performances in theatres and in urban settings and 135 short films (mostly by local artists) on creative dance. In addition, there were 24 visual art and photography exhibitions on dance and 67 public lectures and meetings. 1,703 artists have participated in the festival since its inception, presenting a total of 421 choreographic works in 100 venues in Montreal, for a record audience of 68,610 festivalgoers in 20 years of festival.
