Women’s Habitat is an agency for women and their children in crisis.

Our mission is to empower women and their children in their right to live free from violence in their personal relationships. We provide support, advocacy, emergency shelter, counselling and public education

Description

Shelter:
• 25-bed emergency shelter for abused women and their children
• Receive support, counselling and referrals to community services, such as legal aid, subsidized childcare, subsidized housing, welfare, language and job training, employment counselling
• Child and Youth counsellors work with the children to address the effects of witnessing abuse

Outreach:
• crisis counselling and individual counselling for women and children, small group work for women and girls, drop-in services, transitional support, housing support, advocacy and much more
