Mission Statement
Our Mission Statement is to be a strong voice for quality end of life in Sarnia Lambton.
Our Philosophy is a philosophy of active, compassionate care of people with a terminal illness, which is aimed at improving the quality of their remaining lives physically, emotionally and spiritually. Relief of suffering is the primary goal.
The goals of the SLPCA are:
- to promote an awareness of palliative care issues in the community
- to advocate for comprehensive palliative care services
- to promote educational opportunities
- to foster networking and support for professionals, and others with an interest in palliative care
Description
The Sarnia-Lambton Palliative Care Association (SLPCA) is an umbrella organization consisting of health care professionals and providers, consumers of these services, volunteers, and interested members of the public throughout Lambton County. The Association was founded in 1980. Its mandate is to provide public awareness of palliative care services and to provide educational opportunities to the community.
