Founded in 1984 by their music director Bernard Labadie, Les Violons du Roy and La Chapelle de Québec are a renowned chamber ensemble and chamber choir, respectively. Based in Quebec City, Les Violons du Roy and La Chapelle de Québec have a national and international reputation and offer classical music concerts and recordings, and have a discography comprised of 18 titles.
At the very heart of Quebec City’s music scene, and well-known in Canada and in the United States because of their numerous concerts and recordings on the air of the Société Radio-Canada, the CBC and the NPR American network, Les Violons du Roy have performed more than a hundred concerts in Germany, England, Austria, Belgium, Ecuador, Spain, France, Israel, Morocco, Mexico, Norway and the Netherlands.
Their excellent reputation was recognized with awards such as FÉLIX, JUNO, GÉMEAUX, OPUS, Canadian Indie Award and Classical International Internet Award.
