About High Park Nature Centre
Established in 1999, High Park Nature Centre is a registered Canadian charity that facilitates nature education and conservation programs in Toronto's best outdoor nature classrooms — High Park.
Each year, more than 10,000 people join us from across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including children, adults, seniors, families, school students and teachers, Guides and Scouts groups, community centres, corporate groups and more.
Our camps, clubs, field trips, events, hikes, workshops and other nature programs foster naturalist skills, highlight the diverse ecosystems and inhabitants of High Park, and nurture a sense of wonder and curiosity.
Nearly all our programs focus on stewardship, with over 100,000 participants over 25 years contributing to conservation and restoration projects in High Park. The Nature Centre has made a significant contribution towards improving High Park’s ecological health, from planting native species in the globally endangered Black Oak Savannah ecosystem to removing dominant introduced species, and various community science projects. Together, the efforts of our staff, board, members, donors, program participants, volunteers and the High Park community, helps ensure a sustainable future for High Park and the Nature Centre for generations to come.
