North Shore Health Research Foundation (formerly known as The Lions Gate Healthcare Research Foundation) was started in 1963 by a dedicated group of Doctors and residents of the North Shore. Their dream and vision was to establish a Foundation that would assist much needed health care research for the benefit of patients and residents on the North Shore, (North and West Vancouver and recently the Squamish and Whistler areas). The seed money to start the Foundation was provided by these individuals who shared this vision. Dedicated members of the community have supported the Foundation financially through their membership dues, donations, fundraisers and bequests. The strong support of the community has enabled the Foundation to grow and fund a variety of North Shore focused health related research projects. The intent was to invest in health research that will best serve to improve the health of the residents of the North Shore today and in the future.

To provide funding for medical research at Lions Gate Hospital and on the North Shore.
