Our Mission

Image has been inspired by the work of Image journal, which seeks to foster fosters contemporary art and writing that grapple with the mystery of being human by curating, cultivating, convening, and celebrating work that explores religious faith and spiritual questions.

The objectives of Image are set out in its letters patent, which read in part:

A) To produce arts festivals for the purposes of educating and advancing the public’s understanding and appreciation of visual art and literature through participation in such festivals and related workshops;

B) To fund and award scholarships, fellowships, bursaries and prizes, based on some or all financial need, scholastic excellence and/or meritorious artistic endeavours;

C) To educate artists and writers and increase the public’s understanding and appreciation of the visual arts and literature by providing instructional; seminars and lectures and disseminating materials and information on visual art and literature
