Description
Established in 1977 as the Calgary Immigrant Aid Society, Immigrant Services Calgary is one of Alberta’s longest serving and most comprehensive settlement agencies. Last year, the agency assisted 20,327 immigrants and refugees.
Working in partnership with various funders, the government and other service providers, Immigrant Services Calary provides a wide range of programs including:
-Settlement and Integration Services for immigrants, refugees, temporary foreign workers and their families
-Translation and Interpretation
-English Language Assessment and Referral
-Family Support Programs (Community Access Project, Men's Program, Anti-Racism and Human Rights Outreach, and Connecting Immigrant Seniors)
-Children and Parents Programs such as the Pre-School Program, Literacy Program, Toy and Books Library, Supportive Counselling and Healthy Start Calgary for pre/post natal mothers
-Employment and Skills Development Services
-Youth Engagement Programs
-Volunteer Opportunies
