Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide work opportunities and skill development to people who face employment barriers.
Description
A registered charity since 1935, Goodwill’s core mission has always been to create work opportunities and skills development for people facing serious barriers to employment - among them, persons with disabilities, youth at risk, the chronically unemployed, Aboriginal people and newcomers to Canada. At Goodwill, we know how hard it can be to find paid work.
Goodwill is committed to creating jobs for people through Goodwill REACH™ (Real Employment to Achieve Community Health)- a Transitional Employment program – an innovative approach to enabling people facing employment barriers to access work. This provides what, for many, is a first job, an opportunity to get the necessary experience and develop transferable skills. We create work by operating Community Retail Stores and Donation Centres, and providing Creative, Environmental and Janitorial Services. The goal is to improve each individual’s employability in preparation for entry into the labour market
