Mission Statement
The Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC), founded in 1985, is a national, charitable arts service organization dedicated to helping dancers make necessary transitions into, within, and from professional performing careers.
Description
"At an age when others enter their most productive years, the dancer’s career often ends."
DTRC programming reflects the complete career cycle of a professional dancer.
Emerging dancers are empowered with an understanding of the demands of the profession and are aquainted with the support mechanisms available to help them.
Mid-career artists can develop complementary skills, receive professional career counselling and prepare in advance for retirement.
Retiring artists have the financial support they need to succeed in a second career.
