AMREF (African Medical and Research Foundation) is the world's leading African health organization. AMREF has been developing long-lasting African health solutions through African-led initiatives.

Headquartered in Kenya and active across southern and eastern Africa, we are currently supervising over 120 health projects including clean-water access, health-worker training, AIDS prevention and clinical outreach through the Flying Doctor Service. With Africans accounting for 95% of AMREF project staff, we are a uniquely African organization developing sustainable, cost-effective solutions based on a deep knowledge of local economic, social and cultural contexts.

AMREF Canada supports AMREF in Africa to address critical health challenges by raising funds, providing project support, building capacity, raising awareness and engaging the Canadian public in African health development.
