Qmunity values, celebrates, & transforms the lives of queer people by creating physical social & inclusive spaces; & empowering individuals and communities in BC through innovation, volunteerism, collaboration & professional resources.

Qmunity Vision
Qmunity is a leading provincial resource centre offering community services & programs that celebrate, support & enhance the diverse cultures of queer communities. We offer our resources in a welcoming, accessible, & safe space that is relevant to the communities we serve. Our services & programs support healthy & active living, provide leadership, increase awareness, advocate where needed, & promote arts and culture.

Qmunity Mandate
a) To disseminate to the public, for the advancement of their education, information related to the interests & concerns of lesbian, gay, transgender & bisexual (queer) communities in British Columbia
b) To maintain a library to make available to the public, for the advancement of their education, books & other writings related to the interests and concerns of gay & lesbian communities in British Columbia
c) To maintain a service facility for the benefit of all members of the public
d) To maintain a youth services program for lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual & questioning youth, 25 years old & under, providing support, information & activities for the advancement of their education
e) To maintain a telephone information & referral service for the benefit of all member of the public
f) To preserve, enhance, & reflect the traditions & culture of the queer communities
g) To provide programs & services that will support & enhance the public safety for queer communities
h) To provide programs & services that will advance the public health & well being of queer communities
i) To maintain services & programs for lesbian, gay, transgender bisexual, & questioning ageing & older individuals, providing support, information, activities & education

Description

The Pacific Foundation for the Advancement of Minority Equality (PFAME) DBA Qmunity (BC's Queer Resource Centre) serves and supports lesbian, gay, transgendered and bisexual people and their allies. Qmunity contributes to the health and well-being of LGTB communities through information and referral, education, coming-out groups, social support, recovery meetings, counselling, and community development.

Programs at Qmunity include:

Education and Outreach, Gab Youth, Generations Program for Aging and Older LGTB People, LGTB Victim Services, Out on the Shelves Library, Prideline (LGTB local and Province wide info & support line) and Volunteer Services.
