Our Mission

The Quetico Foundation was founded in 1954 as an incorporated non-profit charitable organization with a mandate to protect the wilderness in Ontario with a particular focus on Quetico Provincial Park. The Foundation fulfills its mandate through broadening our scientific understanding of wilderness ecology and sustainability, educating our current and future business and community leaders in regard to wilderness values, and working with governments, conservation organizations, institutions, interest groups, businesses and the general public to ensure the protection of the unique wilderness character of Quetico Provincial Park and other wilderness areas in and continguous to Ontario.
