Valley Regional Hospital Foundation is an independent charity established to foster a culture of sustained giving in support of health care in the Annapolis Valley.
The Foundation raises funds to help support the health care needs of the communities we serve with priority medical equipment and technology, and address some of the funding requirements of the health district's programs and services. The Foundation relies on donations from individual donors, corporations, foundations, local government and community groups. The regional hospital offers a broad range of health care services including medicine, surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, intensive care, emergency, psychiatry, ambulatory care, diagnostic, therapeutic, palliative care and chemotherapy. The services and programs approximately 88,000 residents of Kings and Annapolis Counties, covering a 200 kilometre area. The Foundation has been in existence since 1986 with its first priority to build the regional hospital. The hospital officially opened its doors in April, 1992.
