Mission Statement
To improve the quality of life for those affected by schizophrenia and psychosis through education, support programs, public policy, and research.
Description
The Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia is a registered charitable society made up of volunteers with a broad range of skills and backgrounds reflecting the diversity of Nova Scotia. There is one full-time employee situated at the provincial headquarters in the Halifax Regional Municipality, as well as four volunteer-run Chapters and eight support group meetings strategically located across the province. Our shared goal is to meet the complex needs of our province relating to all aspects of schizophrenia and psychosis.
The Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia is a member of the Canadian Federation of Schizophrenia Societies. As such, we work with the nine other provincial schizophrenia societies and the Schizophrenia Society of Canada to achieve a shared mission (see above).
