To provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.

Description

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg is a community-based, youth serving agency operating in Winnipeg for over 30 years. We accomplish our mission by operating 10 community-based clubs and numerous developmental programs that cultivate unique skills including: employment preparation, leadership development, homework assistance, nutrition education, sports, recreation, computers, arts and cultural activities. All of the activities are free and designed to be both developmental and preventative. Last year, over 4000 children and youth from Winnipeg participated in Boys and Girls Clubs activities and programs.

Approximately 70% of our members are Urban Aboriginal children and 20% are New Canadians and Refugees.
