Description
Rumble Theatre was founded in 1990 by Norman Armour and Chris Gerrard-Pinker with a focus on creating, performing and producing multi-disciplinary work. Norman lead the company to foster a nascent emerging scene, encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration between artists and promote a national theatre dialogue. In 2006, Craig Hall became the Artistic Producer when the community was focused on collaboration and cooperation. He built long-term organizational partnerships, initiated co-productions and formalized presentation opportunities for promising emerging companies. In 2012, Stephen Drover became Artistic Director and introduced a new mission and direction for Rumble in an effort to respond to the ever-evolving artistic climate: where there is an abundance of companies but not of audiences; where clear artistic vision and identity are integral to company prosperity; and where the demise of a major regional theatre has left a dearth of narrative-driven, text-based theatre productions
