Rights Action works to address the underlying causes of poverty, repression and environmental destruction, mainly in Guatemala and Honduras.
Our Mission
Rights Action funds the humanitarian relief, human rights, environmental and development projects of grassroots organizations in Guatemala and Honduras. We expose and seek to hold accountable the U.S. and Canadian governments, companies and investors, and other international actors (World Bank, etc.) that help cause and, in effect, profit from exploitation, human rights violations, environmental harms and repression, and corruption and impunity.
About RIGHTS ACTION
Rights Action operates with one full-time staff person. For over 25 years, Grahame Russell - a non-practising lawyer, adjunct professor at UNBC, writer - has been director. On request, we can send you background information about the struggles and issues we work on, and proposals for the grassroots organizations and projects we fund.
Channeling your funds to our grassroots partner groups, who are taking the 'front-line role' in working and struggling for "another world is necessary and possible", is a priority aspect of our work.
