The NWT SPCA is a non-profit and charitable organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the well-being of animals in the North. The organization was established in 1988, and a shelter was built in 2012. We support stronger animal protection legislation, offer various programs and services to the residents in the NWT, participate in animal rescue and protection initiatives, and run programs to support adoptions and fostering of abandoned, stray, and neglected animals. We believe in taking a positive and collaborative approach to fulfill our mission. Our Mission Advancing the well-being of companion animals in our region through the operation of our shelter, community education and engagement, and offering programs and services for the betterment of companion animals and Northern communities.
