As a consumer focused, family sensitive self-help mental health organization we seek to promote a quality of life for those living with schizophrenia and co-occurring disorders through public education/awareness, mutual support through self-helps groups, and advocacy.

Description

MSS is a non-profit, charitable, community based self-help mental health organization that began in 1979. With a majority of the Board and staff having received psychiatric services, MSS is committed to a holistic response to mental illness which includes elements of the bio-psychosocial-spiritual-recovery-empowerment models. MSS advocates for a recovery oriented mental health system and services. Recovery from schizophrenia and psychosis is very possible. Enhancing the quality of life for those living with mental illness is not merely a health issue, but a social issue. Our passion is promoting a "future wih hope" for consumers and family members.
