About SAVE OUR SEINE

SOS depends on grants, donations and community volunteers and community contributions to help protect, preserve and enhance the Seine River Environment through education, awareness and hands-on participation. Your contribution assists SOS in enabling all citizens to reconnect with their local environment.

Our vision is for a sustainable and protected Seine River Greenway that provides a healthy habitat for vegetation and wildlife and contributes to the quality of life of all citizens

The vision of SOS is “A sustainable and protected Seine River Greenway that provides a healthy habitat for vegetation and wildlife and contributes to the quality of life of all residents and visitors.”  

The objectives of SOS include:

1. To preserve, protect and enhance the Seine River greenway
2. To restore and repair the Seine River greenway
3. To raise public education & awareness of the Seiner River greenway
4. To improve public access to the Seine River greenway
5. To work in partnership with governmental, business and other non-profit organizations for stewardship planning of the Seine River greenway

We are located on Treaty 1 territory, the original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. We honour and respect the Seine River and its surrounding land that we provide stewardship for at this time.
