Founded in 1996 as a charity, the Atlantic Wildlife Institute has conducted over 30k emergency wildlife consultations, representing 250+ species, and leading the way for wildlife response services in New Brunswick.
The Atlantic Wildlife Institute is a provincially and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility. It studies displaced wildlife to determine causes of displacement and integrates its findings with larger issues of environmental education and management. It provides young people with exceptional opportunities for experiential learning about nature. Other AWI programs include: ecological research; safe wildlife handling; consultation and response in wildlife-related emergencies.
