Mission Statement

The mission of Durham Community Foundation is to provide the citizens of Durham Region, the opportunity to make financial gifts that are invested, the returns of which support the unique needs of our community and their individual interests while creating a lasting legacy that keeps on giving to charities in Durham Region.

Description

Durham Community Foundation is a registered public foundation that is building a permanent endowment that will be available forever, to support charitable programs in all eight municipalities throughout Durham Region. Gifts to the foundation are permanently invested, and the investment income each year is used to award grants to local charities. In this way, donors' gifts go on giving forever ... and charities can apply for that local support every year. The AJAX COMMUNITY FUND is one of the 35 different funds within Durham Community Foundation.
