Mission Statement

Vancouver Pro Musica exists to promote and foster the musical life in the Province of British Columbia by sponsoring, promoting and performing concerts with a focus on the music of BC composers, encouraging collaboration between BC composers and performers, and establishing an innovative, creative, and educational environment for musicians and their audiences.

Description

The main event produced by Vancouver Pro Musica is the Sonic Boom Festival. Sonic Boom is a multi-day festival that celebrates the music of BC composers, with a particular focus on emerging composers and the inclusion of a great diversity of compositional styles and practices.

The Further Series series is another production of Vancouver Pro Musica that aims to involve diverse cultural communities in contemporary music making and provide new opportunities for BC composers to create music.
