Mission Statement
The Vancouver Folk Music Festival Society is a not-for-profit and charitable cultural organization that presents year round concerts, events and an annual music festival. The VFMFS is dedicated to the presentation, preservation and promotion of traditional and contemporary culturally diverse folk music of the highest artistic quality from British Columbia, Canada and around the world.
Description
The Vancouver Folk Music Festival is held mid July each year at Jericho Beach Park featuring 60+ artists from around the world and our own back yard. The Festival is one of the oldest and best loved summer festivals in the city. It presents a mix of folk, world, blues and spoken word artists.
The Festival draws over 12,000 people each day. The festival provides on-site recycling and composting, an Access team to facilitate people with disabilities and free access for their care-givers, free admission for children 12 and under, and discounted tickets for underprivileged members of the community.
