It is hard to imagine not having access to very basic veterinary care for your pet, but in many Canadian communities, this is a reality.
We know that many individuals are deeply passionate about the humane treatment and well-being of all animals. The Canadian Animal Assistance Team (CAAT) shares that passion and has been providing much needed access to veterinary care for remote and under served communities since 2005.
CAAT is a dedicated group of registered veterinary technologists, veterinary assistants, veterinarians, and animal welfare enthusiasts.
Through our Animal Health Care Clinics, we offer vital veterinary services such as sterilization, vaccination, and parasite control. Our program is built on the ONE HEALTH philosophy, recognizing that the health of animals, people, and communities are intricately connected. By caring for animals, we positively impact the health and well-being of people and communities as a whole.
The majority of our efforts, approximately 95%, are focused on Indigenous communities in Canada. Our volunteer CAAT members provide veterinary services by organizing temporary clinics within the community. We set up MASH-style field hospitals directly in host communities, offering these services free of charge to those in need. We also work hand-in-hand with leadership and community members to create unique, sustainable initiatives tailored to their specific needs for animal care and welfare.
Your donation can make a world of difference. It will enable us to provide care to countless animals.
Join us in making a lasting impact on animal welfare and the health of our communities.
