Mission Statement

The Parkinson Society Maritime Region is the voice of Maritimers living with Parkinson's. It eases the burden through support services, education programs and advocacy and assists in finding a cure through research funding.

Description

The Parkinson Society Maritime Region serves those living in Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The Region provides resources to 24 Chapters and Support groups in the three provinces as well as operating a toll free telephone information and referral line. In addition the Society provides numerous education sessions throughout the year at the community level as well as an annual conference. The Society's Resource Centre holds the largest collection in the Maritimes of books, videos, journals, DVD's and other resources. These are available on a complimentary loan basis. The Society publishes a monthly newsletter (electronic - print copies available by request)and raises funds in support of the National Research Program.
