The Canadian Children's Opera Company is a world-class ensemble that introduces the magic of opera to children and youth through professional musical and dramatic education and the performance of established and newly commissioned operatic and choral repertoire.
The Canadian Children's Opera Company is the only permanent children's company in Canada to develop and produce new operas for children. The CCOC, under Executive Artistic Director Ann Cooper Gay, consists of over 200 boys and girls in six different choruses. These six choruses provide training and performance experience for young people from age five to young adult, through over 40 performances each season. The CCOC also operates an outreach program called OPERAtion KIDS, which reaches hundreds of Toronto-area children and youth.
