“Literacy and learning are integral parts of the community where everyone has the essential skills to live a fully engaged life.”
Misson: Literacy for Life (LFL) is a registered charitable organization in the M.D. of Foothills that facilitates, designs, and delivers literacy and learning programs and services to improve the lives of community members and their families.
Literacy for Life Foundation is a community based network that facilitates and delivers literacy resources primarily in the Municipal District of Foothills #31 (south of Calgary, Alberta). Service is provided to families and individuals through the Books for Babies Program, Building Blocks Program, Rhythm and Rhyme classes and adult and adolescent programs. We offer classes for adults in English as a Second Language and adults preparing for their GED exam.
Information and resources are shared at a provincial and national level. The Building Blocks Program was a pilot project in partnership with the Rainbow Literacy Society and is recognised as a provincial model for family literacy.
