Autism Support Dogs holds the objectives of improved availability and increased level of service and support, through the provision of professionally trained Autism Support Dogs at no cost to our clients.
Autism Support Dogs is founded by BC Guide Dog Services, Victor & Anna Kern Foundation, Allen and Loreen Vandekerkhove Family Foundation and Variety - The Children's Charity, with the goal of meeting the Mission Statement.
Incorporated on March 25, 2008 and registered as a Canadian Charity December 12, 2008.
Autism Support Dogs are provided to children with moderate to severe autism, aged four to ten.
An Autism Support Dog will help bring independence, not just for the children, but also for the parents. An Autism Support Dog can allow the child to participate in education, social and leisure activities as the canine reduces the stress associated with interacting with other people and getting involved in social situations.
