In the park visitors will find an accessible playground, accessible walking paths, covered bandstand, community garden boxes and a large number of trees, shrubs, and preninnal flower beds. </p>\r\n<p>Acadia Hall and Acadia Park is operated by a group of dedicated volunteers who oversee the day-to-day upkeep and managment of the hall and park. </p>\r\n<p>We also have 2 Community Projects with the Community Gardens and the Square Roots project, assisting people with high cost of food. The Square Roots team buys bulk produce from local Valley Farmers and rebags a collection of produce in 10lb bundles for $10 with a donation program as well to underserved community members. We have provided adult and family learning opportunities in the Anitgonish area since 1994. Our main office is located in the People’s Place Library in the town of Antigonish, but we regularly provide programs in a variety of sites in Antigonish County. We believe <strong><em>“everyone is a lifelong learner”.</em></strong></p>\r\n<p>ACALA’s mission statement and mandate include the following goals:</p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>to support and promote lifelong learning</li>\r\n<li>to promote literacy networking and awareness</li>\r\n<li>to encourage and support learning initiatives in partnership with adult learners, volunteers, educators, school boards, government departments and other community organization</li>\r\n</ol>\r\n<p>ACALA encourages learners to create their own paths to learning in order to meet individual learning goals. Learners come from all walks of life with a wide variety of goals.
