\nWe do this while working relentlessly to remove barriers to youth engagement by addressing inequities on the ground and at a systems level. The result? We’re widening pathways to STEM education and careers and ensuring the skills and confidence of youth are built today – barrier free – in preparation for tomorrow.
\nOur national programs create safe, inclusive learning environments that ensure all youth, regardless of their race, ethnicity, sex, gender, ability, geography and socioeconomic status, can benefit from and feel a sense of belonging in STEM. National Programs: Indigenous Youth in STEM Program, National Girls Program, Go Where Kids Are, Black Youth in STEM.National Projects and Content Areas: Coding and Digital Skills, Digital Agriculture, Advanced Manufacturing, AI Ready, Cyber Smart (cybersecurity, cyber safety and digital citizenship) Education.
\nEn collaboration avec un réseau national d’universités et de collèges, Actua propose aux jeunes des quatre coins du pays des activités d’apprentissage des STIM transformatrices, qui contribuent au développement de la confiance en soi et de compétences essentielles pour l’employabilité.
\nDans le cadre de ce mandat, nous cherchons constamment à enlever les obstacles à la participation des jeunes aux STIM en luttant contre les inégalités présentes sur le terrain et dans les systèmes. Le résultat? Nous élargissons l’accès à la formation et aux professions en STIM et faisons en sorte que les jeunes acquièrent aujourd’hui, sans entraves, les compétences et l’assurance dont elles et ils ont besoin pour préparer leur avenir.Nos programmes nationaux constituent la base de notre travail visant à faire progresser l’équité et la diversité en STIM. Nous amplifions les retombées locales de nos programmes par la sensibilisation et le leadership éclairé.Programmes Nationaux: Jeunes Autochtones en STIM, Programme national pour les filles, Allons à la rencontre des jeunes et Programme national Jeunes Noirs en STIMLittératie numérique, Intelligence artificielle, cyberfutée.
\nThe Ad Deum Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides to prisoners, former prisoners, victims of crime and others in need the support that leads to the development of the whole person; culturally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically. We welcome and support men and woman regardless of their religion, sexual orientation, age or health, and encourage them to develop a holistic approach to their lives based on the principals of restorative justice.
\r\nThe foundation was founded by catholic volunteers and a few inmates at Mission Institution in British Columbia, Canada in 2008. As a Christian book club, it soon doubled in size, then tripled. Over time, the book club expanded to other prisons and new programs such as Finding God in the Dark and inmate charity events have been added. To-date the programs have been attended by over 500 inmates.
\r\nIn addition to these programs, the Foundation has established partnerships with universities and colleges who, through their “open learning” arrangements, provide inmates with the opportunity to take courses towards a diploma, apprenticeship, professional certificate, continuing studies and even a complete degree program. We have supported inmates in areas such as Accounting, Biology, English Composition, Business Management, Psychology and Electrical Systems, with the basic principle that our bursary program is for courses and programs that are geared toward securing future employment.
\r\nThere is a great need to help inmates and victims “get-on-their-feet” and restore meaningful lives after crime. Our programs and bursary opportunities are expanding to new prisons and we sincerely appreciate your donation to help us uphold and advance the principles of restorative justice in our prisons and communities.
