540 Golden Hawks is one of 450+ Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadrons in Canada and has been offering the Cadet Program to the youth of Oakville, Ontario since 1951.
\r\n\r\nWhat is the cadet program?
\r\nThe Cadet Program is the largest federally sponsored youth development program in Canada.
\r\nIt is made up of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets, Royal Canadian Army Cadets, and Royal Canadian Air Cadets.
\r\nThe Cadet Program provides youth with opportunities to develop valuable life and work skills such as teamwork, leadership, and public speaking, along with personal benefits of increased self-confidence, discipline, initiative, and decision making.
\r\nWe welcome all Oakville youth between the ages of 12 – 18 years old.
\r\nAll donations are used to directly support the Cadet program and activities. Donations are not used for staff salaries or consultant expenses. Your generous support is welcomed and appreciated.
\r\nn addition to the core aspects of the tri-element Cadet Program, Air Cadets focus on aviation topics such as principles of flight, navigation, radio communication, meteorology, and aerodrome operation.
\r\nOur Squadron also operates a large number of extra-curricular activities such as a military band, precision drill team, air rifle marksmanship team, flying scholarship preparation, and much more.
