A Rose For Grandma Wellness Hub is a charitable organization dedicated to addressing the unique challenges faced by communities of Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour where dementia is often stigmatized or misunderstood.
\r\nWe work to dispel myths and provide education to help individuals and families understand the disease and its impact, through collaboration with community organizations, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to improve access to quality of life and care, while providing culturally appropriate services and support that are sensitive to these communities.

\r\n\r\nFounded in 1971, A Space Gallery is one of the oldest artist-run centres in Canada. A Space has played a significant role in the evolution of contemporary art in Canada.

\r\nLocated in downtown Toronto, A Space began as an alternative commercial gallery three years before the centre's not-for-profit incorporation in January 1971. Known as an innovative space dedicated to exploring current ideas in art, A Space was a place for alternative music, poetry, dance, video and performance throughout the 70s.

\r\nA Space has been a leader in the development of policies such as the payment of standard artist fees (1982), anti-censorship (1984), anti-racism (1985) and access (1993). Since 1982, the gallery has maintained an inclusive programming direction focused on work that is politically engaged, oriented around non-dominant communities, and supportive of innovative curatorial and technical practices.

No. 852483312RR0001) that is run by a Board of six volunteers who oversee the operations of our shelter, work with coordinators and committees, as well as focus on continual improvement. Our shelter is operated by two staff and a host of valuable volunteers on-site and in foster homes. Tails to Tell often benefits from the valuable contributions of short term employees, and also our Summer Student and Internship Programs, which allow us to hire student interns who are supported by Federal Grants or a Work Experience program.
\nSince opening, we estimate that over 4500 animals have been helped, and hundreds more continue to be helped each year. Any numbers stated for a year do not include cats and kittens that are found and returned to their owners. Thanks to our wonderful supporters who not only supply monetary donations, but also dedicate their talent and time volunteering and provide foster homes to care for needy animals.
\nThe majority of our adult or adolescent cats live in a free roaming communal environment. Our belief is that free roaming cats become more social with other cats and humans. Communal living allows exercise and play time, as well as getting used to human approach and touch – on the animal’s terms. However, there are also good reasons why cats are in kennels or rooms. New mothers, new arrivals, and sick or injured kitties are kept in another area of the shelter until they are able to join the general population. The majority of our kittens are raised in foster homes until they are old enough to be transferred to the Shelter.

La vie en communauté permet l’exercice et le jeu, ainsi qu’une habituation graduelle à l’approche et au toucher humains — selon les conditions de l’animal. Toutefois, certaines circonstances justifient l’hébergement en cages ou dans des pièces séparées : les nouvelles mères, les nouveaux arrivants, ainsi que les chats malades ou blessés sont logés dans une autre zone du refuge jusqu’à ce qu’ils puissent intégrer la population générale. La majorité de nos chatons sont élevés dans des foyers d’accueil jusqu’à ce qu’ils soient suffisamment âgés pour être transférés au refuge.
