The Cascadia Society is a life-sharing community of individuals founded on the principles of the international Camphill Movement. The central purpose is community building, by working and living with those individuals in need of special care.

Cascadia is more than just a job or a safe place to spend a few hours each day. It is a way of life where each participant can make a meaningful contribution to the community, and where challenges are provided for everyone to grow in dignity and freedom to the fullest potential. Cultural, artistic and therapeutic experiences are provided through residential home care and day activities within the urban setting of Vancouver’s North Shore. Research confirms that these factors play a major role in mental illness, addictions, homelessness and crime. \nFeeding the hungry
\nOur commitment to the whole community includes collecting non-perishable items and donations all year round and they are delivered periodically to Moisson Québec, a local major food bank. Each year in December the Food Basket Project gives way to the Community Christmas Hamper Campaign, organized by the Jeffery Hale Community Services. Donations to this campaign are directed to an organization that prepares over 200 hampers that are packed with Christmas food and goodies before being delivered to previously-identified recipients to help make that time of year festive for them.
\nDigital Discipleship
\nWe have a lively programme for parish children, a Digital Discipleship, whose goal is to help children, youth and families use technology responsibly, and to promote and strengthen community and intergenerational relationships .and ministry to seafarers stopping over in the Port of Quebec.
\nGrowing into the future
\nToday ancient trees still surround the Cathedral, but the magnificent gardens are a distant memory, replaced by a parking lot. We wish to restore the spirit of the Récollet gardens by transforming the Cathedral Close into an informal garden. It will have flower beds, vegetable plots, and areas for play and meditation. We wish to create a place of health and peace, a meeting place where people of all origins and beliefs will be welcome for generations to come.

Chaque année, en décembre, le projet des paniers de provisions cède la place à la campagne communautaire des paniers de Noël, organisée par les Services communautaires de langue anglaise Jeffery Hale. Les dons à cette campagne sont dirigés vers une organisation qui prépare plus de 200 paniers remplis de nourriture et de friandises de Noël avant d'être livrés à des bénéficiaires préalablement identifiés pour les aider à rendre cette période de l'année festive pour eux.

\nNous avons un programme vivant pour les enfants de la paroisse, un Discipulat numérique, dont le but est d'aider les enfants, les jeunes et les familles à utiliser la technologie de manière responsable, et de promouvoir et renforcer la communauté et les relations intergénérationnelles... et le ministère auprès des marins en escale dans le Port de Québec.
\nGrandir vers l'avenir
\nAujourd'hui, des arbres centenaires entourent encore la cathédrale, mais les magnifiques jardins ne sont plus qu'un lointain souvenir, remplacés par un parking. Nous souhaitons retrouver l'esprit des jardins des Récollets en transformant le clos de la cathédrale en un jardin informel. Il comportera des parterres de fleurs, des potagers, des espaces de jeux et de méditation. Nous voulons créer un lieu de santé et de paix, un lieu de rencontre où les gens de toutes origines et de toutes croyances seront les bienvenus pour les générations à venir.
