City Cinema has a new projector!
\nThe Charlottetown Film Society was formed in 2012 and one of its primary objectives was to take ownership and assume operation of City Cinema.
\nThe Charlottetown Film Society purchased City Cinema in March 2019 and is dedicated to carrying out our mandate to contribute to the province's film culture and provide opportunities for film appreciation.
\nWe have finally managed to replace our aging projector, but we still have to pay for it! We are thrilled to say that thanks to the generosity of donors and supporters we have raised about $45,000 of the $53,200 cost of a new projector! Help us put together the final $8,000 for this necessary purchase. By contributing to this campaign, you will instantly receive a charitable tax receipt, and know that you are helping City Cinema get ready for our next 30 years!
\nAs PEI’s only independent theatre, owned and operated by The Charlottetown Film Society, City Cinema has grown into a hub where community can gather for the study, appreciation, and celebration of film. With our newe projector we can continue showing the films our audience is looking for - art films, independent films, foreign films, classics… those great movies that are not found at mainstream cinemas.
\nAll donations will receive an official receipt for income tax purposes.

Grâce à notre nouveau projecteur, nous pourrons continuer à projeter les films que notre public recherche : films d'art et d'essai, films indépendants, films étrangers, classiques... tous ces grands films que l'on ne trouve pas dans les cinémas grand public.
