Our Mission
\nThe Foundation was established in 1996 and seeks out children's issues in Canada and in Zambia, provides financial and organizational assistance, and visits the projects on an annual basis.
\nAs The Foundation receives a special donation to cover all of the administrative expenses 100% of donations go directly to the children.
\nAbout Our Charity:
\nOUR ZAMBIAN PROJECTS
\nWater Well project:
\nThe Foundation has drilled over 600 water wells greatly assisting in the control of the many water borne diseases.
\nCommunity School Project
\nThe Foundation has built 9 schools consisting of a two to three classroom school block, staff houses, and toilet facilities and each school is sometimes equipped with solar lighting. Inevitably the enrollment increases and we have from time to time added additional classrooms and staff houses and have assisted with some of the school supplies needed.
\nHealth Center Project
\nThe Foundation has built 10 clinics and totally renovated an existing clinic. The result is a huge increase in demand for the services provided and we have added staff houses, maternity wards, mothers' shelters as needed. The clinics are supplied with medical equipment, solar lighting and in some cases running water.
\nThe eye surgery project
\nThe Foundation holds up to 30 eye clinics per year for between 6-8 children each at the Luska Eye Hospital helping with a whole range of issues. These include cataract surgery (blind from birth) and these operations allow the children to see for the first time.
\nThe Chishawasha Orphanage Project now known as the Colin B Glassco School
\nOver the years in step with Government policies we transitioned away from having children stay at the orphanage and the 6 residences we built have been repurposed as classrooms, an early learning center and a library. The school is now being run by another group and it has shown tremendous growth.....since 2023 the number of students has grown from 320 to over 875.
\nThe school has continued with our original policy of offering an education to vulnerable children with the goal to have as many as 15% in the program.
\nThe Glassco Foundation continues to support some of the activities.
\nSustainability Agricultural Project
\nThe rural villages usually only grow a single crop so are very susceptible to drought and flooding. Our program introduces them to alternate farming methods (chickens, goats, tree programs and cash crops) which give the villagers stability.
\nImmunization Project
\nThe Foundation supports two immunization drives per year reaching up to 90% of the children
\nOUR CANADIAN PROJECTS
\nThe Breakfast Program
\nWe provide breakfast for the approximate 50 children in a small Dene community called Lutsel K'e on the eastern arm of great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories. We work with a nutritionist to ensure that this most important meal provides the proper balance to their traditional diet. The program has resulted in the enrollment increasing.

\r\nThe College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada was established in Summerside, Prince Edward Island in 1989 (2014 marks the 25th anniversary of The College!) as a registered Canadian charity and a non-profit organization. It has developed a world-class reputation as an international school of excellence in Highland bagpiping, Scottish-style snare drumming, Highland dancing, Island step dancing and it is the only year round school of its kind in North America. At The College of Piping we are committed to inspiring interest and excellence among youth in the performing arts, enhancing appreciation of culture and heritage, and encouraging active community engagement. Today, more than ever, young people need opportunities to discover and nurture their artistic talents with the support of positive adults and peers. The College of Piping provides that support.
