The Emmaus Community is a monastically-inspired intentional community in Victoria BC (territories of the Songhees and Xwsepsum [Esquimalt] Nations, the Lək̓ʷəŋən  peoples') whose members have a rule of life with comittments to prayer, presence and simplicity together. The Emmaus Community hosts the AbbeyChurch as one of our expressions of worship, pray together many weekdays, are forming neighbourhood partnerships, brew beverages and are currently seeking to build or find a building for housing co-op / monastic hub. The AbbeyChurch is a ministry of Emmaus; a Sunday afternoon worshiping community with 'open-table' communion and children/youth programming (most weeks) which is run by the Emmaus Community. Whoever you are, we invite you to visit or even consider making the AbbeyChurch your 'home' place of worship. We gather on Sundays at 4pm (every other week in the summer) and have a potluck about once a month after worship.  More details here.

L'ÉgliseAbbatiale est un ministère d'Emmaüs; une communauté de culte du dimanche après-midi avec une communion « à table ouverte » et des programmes pour enfants/jeunes (la plupart des semaines) gérés par la communauté Emmaüs. Qui que vous soyez, nous vous invitons à visiter ou même à envisager de faire de l'AbbeyChurch votre lieu de culte « chez vous ». Nous nous réunissons le dimanche à 16 heures (une semaine sur deux en été) et organisons un repas-partage environ une fois par mois après le culte.  Plus de détails ici.

Who We Are

The Empire Club Foundation was set up over 50 years ago to help widen the reach of the Empire Club, Canada’s most respected and well-known speaker’s podium, and distribute the content of its speeches and events to educational organizations across Canada.

\r\n

By gaining access to the content presented at the Club, secondary and post-secondary students become better prepared to take their places as informed citizens and make strong decisions in the realm of public policy. This resource is also a valuable source of original content for researchers, journalists and all Canadians interested in accessing information that had had little coverage to date outside of the Empire Club.

\r\n

What We Do

\r\n

The Foundation promotes and distributes the Club’s historical and recent speeches to educational organizations and keeps the archives of the Empire Club up to date and easy to consult. This digital library goes all the way back to the Club’s origins in 1903 and includes a robust search feature to facilitate research by students, teachers, and anyone wanting to know more about any topic covered in the many thousands of speeches contained in these archives.

\r\n

Speeches from recent years are also available through video and audio recordings. As speakers addressing the Club tend to be experts in their fields, these make an ideal pedagogical tool for teachers and professors to delve into the exploration of a topic.

\r\n

Two years ago, in addition to promoting this digital library to educational facilities across Canada, the Empire Club Foundation produced Teacher's Guides for two of the Club’s events and offered these guides to schools, colleges and universities. This was a highly successful first-time initiative and was used by several educational facilities either while the events were live, or by streaming the archived events to students, while using the Teacher’s Guide. Following that, the Foundation began producing Newsletters which tie current events to historical speeches at the Club. For both of these initiatives the result was the same…young Canadians who normally would not be aware of Empire Club content, were enriched by viewing an event live or post-event through our digital library, and by engaging in a curated discussion about that topic with their teacher and other students.

Teachers and professors find this primary source material elevates the discussion in academic settings.

\r\n

When you donate to the Empire Club Foundation, you are essentially allowing the content generated by the Empire Club to be seen, discussed and debated by young Canadians and researchers.

The Employment + Education Centre (EEC) is a not-for-profit agency that is committed to helping individuals reach their potential through education and employment. We are funded primarily through the federal and provincial governments which makes it possible to provide our services free of charge.

Our purpose is to deliver education and employment services with excellence and innovative approaches that empower our community —employers, job seekers, and other stakeholders — to achieve their goals.

One of the many ways we do this is through our scholarship fund. With the help of our amazing donors, we are able to invest in our community, by investing in the education of its citizens.

The Endometriosis Network Canada is the first registered charity in Canada dedicated to raising awareness of endometriosis and helping those it affects.

Recognizing the great need to provide Canadians with the resources to help improve the quality of life for those living with this chronic disease, a group of individuals with endometriosis who met at a Toronto-based support group founded The Endometriosis Network Canada as a not for profit in 2012.

The Endometriosis Network Canada has had the opportunity to draw upon top medical experts in the country and internationally, as well as networking across Canada with endometriosis patients.

Our mission is to promote awareness while providing education, support and resources nationally, for people with endometriosis and those whose lives it touches. In a strong, informed and compassionate community, you find hope. We aim to cultivate exactly this community of hope, in participation with the collective of individuals who comprise our incredible endometriosis community: endo fighters, support givers, practitioners, medical professionals, students, researchers, and advocates.
