Mission Statement of Fundy Region Transition House, Inc. (FRTH)
\r\nFRTH offers safe shelter, compassionate support and advocacy to victims of abuse and family violence. FRTH commits to the highest standard of client care, strong partnerships & public education within our community and a determination to end the cycle of family violence.
\r\nOur Program for victims of intimate partner and family violence/abuse
\r\nFundy Transition House is a safe place for women and women with children offering a 24 hour/7 days-a-week service. Our Crisis Interveners are sensitive to a woman's needs and offer a variety of skills and experience to help women and their families during stressful situations. Our staff can help women access the supports and services they need to move forward.
\r\nThe children's support worker provides a supportive and safe atmosphere for children. The indoor/outdoor environment has been certified for the safety of children. We provide support to mothers and their children with links to existing social, recreational, educational and health services.
\r\nOutreach services are available to women who choose to access services outside of the shelter.
\r\nFRTH opened in June 2019 Carol-Ann's House, Second Stage Housing for women and families. We are pleased to offer this service to women and children who are victims of relationship violence and abuse.

\r\nOur official name is The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals, but we’re known to many as The Fur-Bearers.
\r\nOur mission is simple, yet deeply impactful:
\r\n1. To protect the environment by preserving both urban and rural ecosystems, and the wildlife that depends on them.
\r\n2. To advance public education about wildlife protection and conservation.
\r\n3. To uphold and strengthen animal welfare laws by keeping an eye on commercial fur farms and other industries that use fur-bearing animals. We focus on ensuring they follow the law, and we work with the public to uncover any violations.
\r\n4. To do whatever it takes to support these goals and help make the world a better place for wildlife.
\r\nThe story of The Fur-Bearers is one of deep passion and unwavering commitment to wildlife. Over the years, we've worked tirelessly to protect fur-bearing animals and their habitats, and the journey that brought us here is one we are proud to share. We hope you’ll join us as we continue to fight for a future where animals are treated with the respect they deserve.

\r\nAt FESA we believe that literacy and foundational learning affect all aspects of family and community life - including employment, finances, health, education, social welfare, and justice, and that low-literacy must be addressed to ensure the success of people in our communities. IN CANADA, 48% OF ADULTS HAVE INADEQUATE LITERACY SKILLS. That’s millions of Canadians who do not have the skills they need to successfully thrive in their communities. Literacy and access to information have been shown to reduce poverty and inequality, provide opportunities for work - increasing household income, and even improve the health of children.
\r\nWithout literacy, without the basic tools required to pursue their goals, people become less than equal members of society. At FESA, we work specifically with immigrant, refugee, Indigenous, and other marginalized learners to promote equality and full participation in society by building the literacy and essential skills of Canada’s most vulnerable learners.
