The Wolfville Area Inter-Church Council was founded in 1970 as an ecumenical Christian commitment to address perceived spiritual and social needs. The Council has spun off many projects: the Dorcas Shoppe to provide inexpensive clothing for low income families (since closed); Senior Citizen Housing; the Meals-on-Wheels program; and the Interchurch Housing Society, which created decent affordable housing for poor families and whose success made it the subject of two National Film Board documentaries.
\r\nSince 1973 WAICC with various community organizations has operated a Christmas Food Program. In 1979 a year round Emergency Food Relief program was added. WAICC now provides other relief such as emergency delivery of heating oil and recently started contributing to the School Breakfast Program. WAICC also operates a Food Bank. We are organizing the community sponsorship of a Syrian refugee family. You can target a donation to a specific program.
\r\nPublic seminars, lectures, workshops and religious services are organized by the Council and financed by the member churches. These churches also contribute financially to the food programs.

\r\nThe mission of the Wolfville Historical Society is to interpret and maintain the Randall House as a museum for the benefit of the members of the Society, the residents of Wolfville and its surrounding communities, and visitors. In carrying out this mission the Society
\r\n• employs staff and trains volunteers to operate the Randall House as a seasonal museum;
\r\n• collects and preserves records and objects of historical interest which are related to the life and history of the Town of Wolfville and its surrounding communities;
\r\n• encourages membership in the Society and interest in the museum and in local history by means of meetings, historical addresses, and the reading of prepared historical papers;
\r\n• advises the Town Council of Wolfville, or any of its commissions or committees, on matters related to preservation and presentation of the history of Wolfville, including the naming of streets and parks, and the preservation of buildings.
\r\nDescription
\r\nThe Society was established in 1941 and incorporated in 1947. Since that time it has occupied the Randall House, a provincial heritage property, built about 1800 and one of the oldest houses in the town of Wolfville. The Randall House Museum is open to the public from June to September each year, and special interpretive tours and programs for students of all ages, seniors and special interest groups, are offered at other times by arrangement. The Society employs a professional museum curator to deliver these services and to oversee all the volunteer work at the Randall House. During the fall, winter and spring, monthly meetings are held (open to the public) which feature speakers on local and provincial historic and heritage topics. Our current membership is 120.

We focus very much on developing relationships that reveal the unique value and vocation of each community member.
