The Workers Arts & Heritage Centre is here to fulfill its mandate of preserving, honouring, and promoting the culture & history of all working people. Our Mandate points in the social justice direction, the union direction and the community activism path. We hope that future generations will follow.

WAHC’s goal is to create an activist cultural and educational experience. The contributions of working people - not only in Canada history but worldwide - are showcased in art, exhibits, and performances. Their labour has made this country a fair and vibrant place to live and work. We acknowledge the struggles of the labour movement. Without them, Canadians would not be living in a country ranked among the best in the world.

The Centre is more than a museum. It was conceived in the late 1980’s by a dynamic group of labour historians, artists, and union and community activists who gathered together to discuss the need for a place where workers’ history could be celebrated.

Workers Education Alliance of Northern Ontario provides public education workshops to non-union, precarious workers in the city of Greater Sudbury and North-Eastern Ontario on their rights at work.

We want to ensure that all workers have a voice and are treated with fairness, dignity, and respect. 

\r\n

WEANO also strives to facilitate discussions about social issues with individuals and non-profit groups that will lead to workers feeling empowered to exercise their rights and make changes to their working conditions. All of our services are FREE and offered in both English and French.

\r\n

We financially support the SUDBURY WORKERS EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY CENTRE in their Education and Outreach work.

The Workers’ History Museum (WHM) is a not-for-profit corporation based in the National Capital Region. Founded in January 2011, the museum is dedicated to the development and preservation of workers’ history and heritage in the National Capital Region and Ottawa Valley. Our goal is to present, promote, interpret, and preserve workers’ history, heritage, and culture. The WHM has a bold national vision that champions our country's workers in the private and public sector - both unionized and non-unionized - along with historians, students and educators. It is a vibrant hub of regional and national labour history, interactive displays, and learning opportunities.

L’objectif du MHO est de présenter, de promouvoir, d’interpréter et de préserver l’histoire, le patrimoine et la culture des travailleurs. Le MHO se définit par une vision audacieuse visant à appuyer à l’échelle nationale les travailleurs syndiqués et non syndiqués des secteurs public et privé ainsi que les historiens, les étudiants et les agents d’éducation. Il se veut un centre régional et national d’histoire, d’expositions interactives et de possibilités d’apprentissage.

The Workers’ Resource Centre helps Alberta workers understand their rights, access their benefits, and file complaints and appeals with employment-related legislative bodies such as Employment Standards and the Alberta Human Rights Commission. We support workers in crisis, through discrimination, disability, job loss and more, helping them to understand their options and stand up for their rights when they've been treated unfairly. We also connect workers to social supports that help them to get by in times of crisis.

Our Public Legal Education program helps workers in Alberta to understand their rights and responsibilities in the workplace. Partnering with community organizations across the province, we provide free workshops that translating complex legal concepts into accessible information and empowers workers with knowledge that they can use to advocate for their rights in the workplace.

Our services are free to all Alberta workers.

Formerly the Ontario Council of Alternative Businesses, Working for Change was established in 1994 to respond to the need for employment opportunities for people with mental health. Since then we have expanded our mandate to include other marginalized communities.
