\r\n\r\nWSC is an innovative, community-based, non-profit charitable organization that empowers immigrants, primarily women. Our purpose is to prepare our clients to fully participate in Canadian society by providing educational programs, Canadian work experience and settlement services that ultimately lead to employment.
\r\n\r\nIn 2008, WSC's skills training programs were recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and the Academy of Computer and Employment Skills (A.C.E.S.) was launched. Six Diploma Programs are approved by the Ministry as vocational programs under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005:

\r\nLocated in an easily accessible building at Yonge & Eglinton, WSC has established a business environment which provides immigrants with Canadian workplace experience, settlement counselling and referrals to needed services, technical skills training in accounting and office administration, and bridge-to-work programs.
\r\n\r\nClient feedback is extremely positive, relected in the fact that the majority of referrals are word of mouth from satisfied customers.
\r\n\r\nThe agency works in collaboration with other organzations serving women, immigrants and the unemployed including several umbrella groups and Memorandums of Understanding with other programs to ensure that clients receive all needed services.
\r\n\r\nA donation of just $10.00 per month = a subsidy for an isolated woman to take a needed skills upgrade;
\r\nA donation of just $500 = a subsidy for a newcomer to enrol in Diploma program and receive Canadian credentials;
\r\nA donation of just $200 = career exploration and work placement services

Some of them are from underprivileged backgrounds and wish to escape problems such as crime, drug addiction, dependence, violence, low self esteem, etc. For six months, with the help of psychosocial specialists and specialized educators, the participants learn to develop a healthy lifestyle that will get them to know themselves better.
\r\nDuring the program, the participants participate in various jobs through a wide range of work stations: organic farming, construction, commercial cooking, cabinet making-joinery, mechanics and customer service. The support offered during their program will bring them to gain self esteem, values, ethic in regards to working, human well-being and environmental protection. During their passage at La Ferme they are paid for their work, experience that gives the participants the opportunity to be supported to get back to school or to reach the labor market with success.
\r\nLa Ferme Jeunes au Travail (Working Youngsters Farm) aims to help young people who dropped out from School in Laval, and aged between 16 and 35 years old, to develop their personal, professional and social skills. Through a program mixing apprenticeship, work experience and personal growth, the participants are encouraged and supported, to integrate the labor market or to return to school after the program.

\r\nWorkman Arts is a multidisciplinary arts organization that promotes a greater understanding of mental health and addiction issues through creation and presentation. We support artists with lived experience through peer-to-peer arts education, public presentations and partnerships with the broader arts community.

\r\nWorkman Arts is the longest-running multidisciplinary arts and mental health organization in Canada. It was founded in 1987 by Lisa Brown, a former psychiatric nurse at the Queen Street Mental Health Centre (now known as CAMH), as a theatre company of eight member artists.
\r\nOver the years, it has grown to a multidisciplinary arts organization with 500+ artist members. For 35 groundbreaking years, Workman Arts has produced a variety of projects, including: 30+ original full-length Canadian plays, the annual Rendezvous with Madness Festival and the annual Being Scene juried art exhibition.
\r\nTo prevent work-related disease around the world through shared expertise, knowledge and skills.
\r\nAround the world two million people a year die from occupational disease. Occupational hazards affect children, families and communities as well as workers. Workplace Health Without Borders is dedicated to preventing occupational disease worldwide. By providing training, mentoring, technical assistance, equipment and other services, we aim to help communities that lack occupational health resources develop the capacity to achieve healthy work environments.
