The walk was organized for the first time in 2009 in Côte St. Luc where more than 600 people participated. For the second edition in 2010, the walk was moved to downtown MONTRÉAL and grew in scope: almost 1,000 participants gathered in the name of mental health!

The MONTRÉAL WALKS for mental health Foundation is comprised of a group of organizations who are focused on raising public awareness about mental health and the stigma that still surrounds mental illness and offering services to people living with mental illness and their families.

La marche a été organisée pour la première fois en 2009, dans la ville de Côte St-Luc, où plus de 600 personnes y avaient pris part. Pour sa deuxième édition, en 2010, la marche s’est transportée dans le centre-ville de Montréal et a pris de l’ampleur : près de 1000 participants se sont rassemblés au nom de la santé mentale! La fondation MONTRÉAL MARCHE pour la santé mentale est issue d’un regroupement d’organisations qui ont à cœur de sensibiliser le public à la santé mentale et aux préjugés qui persistent encore dans la société face aux maladies mentales.
