CanadaHelps COVID-19 Community Care Fund

An easy way to support vulnerable communities affected by COVID-19.

Thank you to the Gore Mutual Foundation for matching $2 MILLION in donations.

Support people affected by COVID-19 with a single donation.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread and claim lives worldwide, economies and social supports are facing severe strain in response to the global health crisis. With many in need of help, Canadian charities are acting quickly to mitigate the impact of this crisis on all Canadians – especially the most vulnerable.

In Canada, food banks are seeing a rise in demand due to job losses and the closure of essential social services such as drop-in centres and school lunch programs. Crisis lines supporting people experiencing mental health issues and families experiencing domestic violence are reporting an increase in calls. Other charities are supporting refugees, isolated seniors, children, people experiencing homelessness, and other vulnerable people who need access to emergency food, housing, and other urgent needs in Canada.

Together with the Gore Mutual Foundation, we can support charities helping vulnerable community members as we fight against COVID-19.

We’re proud that we have raised over $1 million dollars and every dollar has been matched by The Gore Mutual Foundation. You can continue to help us make an even greater impact by donating today!

Your tax-deductible donation to the CanadaHelps COVID-19 Community Care Fund will help Canadian registered charities leading vital work to respond to the current COVID-19 crisis, including those providing basic needs such as food and shelter. Plus, your tax-deductible donation will be pooled with gifts from other generous Canadians to make an even greater impact

Should the funds raised exceed the amount required to meet immediate and longer-term needs in connection with the COVID-19 crisis, excess funds will be used by these charities for other important initiatives.

WHAT MAKES UP THE CANADAHELPS COVID-19 COMMUNITY CARE FUND

The CanadaHelps COVID-19 Community Care Fund includes over 490 registered charities who are supporting urgent needs in response to COVID-19. These charities are supporting emergency food, housing, and the unique needs of vulnerable communities such as children and seniors who are at most risk due to isolation and social distancing in Canada.

To ensure donations reach charities easily and efficiently, charities must be one of the 20,000 charities registered to receive funds electronically from CanadaHelps. Funds will be transferred bi-weekly, subject to a minimum of $3 per charity.

We regularly update the list of charities in the CanadaHelps COVID-19 Community Care Fund.
