The ARTicipate Endowment Fund was established in 2007 by AOE Arts Council to support artistic programming in professional spaces at the Shenkman Arts Centre, Ottawa. The Arts Council is the steward of the fund and is responsible for its promotion, administration and sustainability.
Since 2010, the ARTicipate Endowment Fund has provided over $500,000 through 130 grants awarded to local artists and arts groups including the Shenkman Arts Centre’s five Resident Arts Partners (AOE Arts Council, Ottawa School of Art - Orléans Campus, Gloucester Pottery School, Mouvement d’implication francophone d’Orléans (MIFO), and Ottawa School of Theatre). Whether it is a stage performance, an art exhibition in one of the Centre’s galleries or a choral concert, because of donor’s financial commitment to the Fund, local artists are able to share their work at the Shenkman Arts Centre. Collectively, we are proud of the positive impact the Fund has had on Ottawa’s arts community.
With thanks to individual donors, businesses and the arts community, the Fund has grown to $4.8 million, just shy of the $5 million goal. The Curtain Call Campaign is a concerted effort that will align with Shenkman Arts Centre’s 10th Anniversary aiming to meet the ARTicipate Endowment Fund’s original goal of $5M.
We are very close to reaching our goal ― so close that we have been challenged by the Shenkman Family Foundation to raise the remaining $200,000 by December 31, 2018.
With thanks to the generosity of the Shenkman Family Foundation, all donations to the ARTicipate Endowment Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar before December 31, 2018 (up to $100,000). Your donation, large or small, will be doubled and have twice the impact on the arts and culture in Ottawa.
