Most children look forward to Spring Break. Trips south, spending time with their families, celebrating the down time. The children in our families do not have the same feeling about Spring Break. They are going to be without the things that bring them joy. Friends to play with at school, the caring spirit of the faculty and staff, and the resources that bring them the supports they require. Like food.
This year, March break is being extended to 3 weeks. This is being done in the hopes of halting the spread of CoViD 19. For the kids we support, this is devastating. They will not receive the same level of support they generally receive at school and that they require to be healthy and happy children.
With that it mind, we have extended the Spring Break program to our families. We will be supplying weekly groceries to the severely food insecure children served over the March break.
This not only requires many volunteers to participate to ensure the food is packaged and delivered. It also requires more funds than we have allocated for the programs we run.
Please support the extended March break program. $150 will supply a child with groceries for the entire 3 weeks.
