When the world was hit by this pandemic and the world seemed to have stopped, we all wondered how to proceed with life. Our normal routine was bound by social distancing, long line ups outside grocery stores, and most of all, not being able to see our family and friends.
As schools and educational institutions were closed down to avoid the spread of COVID-19, parents and students were left at the mercy of online learning. This became more difficult as no one was used to studying or teaching virtually on a full-time basis. Teachers started working round the clock to make things easier for students and parents. Amidst all this, a new idea emerged by the name of Tootyr.
Tootyr is providing FREE online tutoring using screen sharing face-to-face technology with fully qualified volunteer tutors, for kindergarten to grade 12 students in support of the Ontario curriculum. A project of NewArts, a registered Canadian charity based in Toronto; together we are working towards easier and fun learning in Ontario.
Our values and guidelines are based on compassion, continuous improvement, and excellence. Join us to make it successful!
Use of Funds
Donations will go towards developing Tootyr into an operational organization, including hiring and training incoming staff to manage and maintain our site.
Funds would also be allocated to recruiting, training, and providing resources for volunteer tutors. We currently have one dozen tutors, with hopes to grow that to more than 1000 to help as many children as possible.
A donation of only $20 will fund a complete tutoring session for a child in need.
