A PLACE CALLED HOME RESIDENCE IN LINDSAY
The COVID-19 Pandemic has impacted A Place Called Home significantly with many people in our community needing support.
For the past 16 years Mark has walked in support of A Place Called Home and the annual Mark-a-thon is a major fundraiser for the homeless shelter.
While we are not able to offer a physical walk, we are still collecting donations for Mark in support of A Place Called Home. 2020 has been a challenging year for many people. Many in our community are struggling financially, mentally and socially as we work through this pandemic.
A Place Called Home has seen record numbers of people needing support. In a normal year, our shelter provides 19 beds and outreach services to the homeless men, women and families with children in our community.
Through most of June and July these numbers exceeded 50 people per day causing us to coordinate with local motels to assist the large numbers of people needing support.
All donations are tax deductible and go towards supporting our shelter the most vulnerable of the City of Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton
