It's cold, dark, and the snow is falling. Your feet are numb with fingers like iciycles. You need a place to be warm. Your tummy rumbles as you try and remember the last time you ate. Loneliness sets in as you remember loved ones from the past. A car pulls over, you get it. You don't know who the person is. You place your wet socks on the dashboard praying that they will dry. Does this person have a place that you can go? Every hour is a struggle of survival. Is there anyone to help?
This was my experience as a youth who experienced homelessness. This has helped fuel my passion to found A Way Home Kamloops Society, which is creating the housing programs that youth need to leave the streets behind. We are now a Charitable organization that is making a difference every day in the lives of marginalized youth.
Please join us in ensuring every young person has a way home ! Help us end youth homelessness in our community !
