Bahamas battered by Hurricane Dorian
Hurricane Dorian has strengthened to a category five storm and is currently wreaking havoc over the Bahamas.
The full extent of the damage is not yet known, but the Prime Minister of Bahamas, Hubert Minnis, has described it as ‘unprecedented.’
Torrential rain and winds that have reached 290 km/hour have damaged shelters, torn down power lines, and destroyed approximately 13,000 homes. There are unconfirmed reports of deaths and missing people.
The ADRA network is actively monitoring the situation. Our Emergency Response Team is making preparations to deploy. Supplies are being prepared.
Your prayers and support are needed.
